Animal Flow is a continuous training style of fluid movement that takes place on the floor, made fun, stimulating and effective. This system is designed to improve strength, power, flexibility, mobility and coordination for all levels of fitness enthusiasts. Whether you want to train on your own, train with a pro, or take part in group classes, Animal Flow has something for every body!

THE SIX COMPONENTS Animal Flow includes a range of movements and combinations that are grouped into categories that we call "The Six Components". Each component is designed to achieve specific results. These components can be mixed and matched in a variety of ways, allowing you to incorporate one or more of them into your workouts.

wrist mobilisation

Wrist mobilizations are simple but effective movements used to prepare the hands and wrists for the challenges of Animal Flow (AF). Healthy wrists are so important to the success of novices and experienced flow-ists, that they are always our first component.

Activation

Our activations are a way to "wake up" the body and encourage it to communicate. AF practice uses two activation positions, "Beast" and "Crab," which are fundamental forms in the overall program

Travelling Form

The “Traveling Form” are our animal locomotion movements. They represent how we imitate animals to improve human animal function. We group these forms in the ABCs of animal movements: "Ape", "Beast" and "Crab", as well as their variations.

Form Specific Stretch

FSS are whole body stretches that start in a basic animal position (ABC) and then move through various ranges of motion. The goal of FSS is to encourage a combination of flexibility and stability (i.e. mobility) throughout the body, building strength through movement.

Switch and transition

S&T are the essential "flow" of the AF practice. They are dynamic movements that can be linked together to form infinite combinations, or can stand alone as a powerful drill or exercise. The four basic S&T categories are: Underswitch, Side Kickthrough, Scorpion and Front Kickthrough.

FLOW

The flows are predefined sequences where the movements are linked together to create a continuous series of movements. Learning a Flow for the first time can be a workout in itself, as we recommend that you practice each movement before putting them together in the Flow. Once you've learned a Flow, you can decide how you want to use it as a complete workout or incorporate it into your regular training style. How you get the most out of your Flow practice is really up to you. Flows can be performed in many ways, but there are 3 main styles: choreographed; "Call Out"; and “Free Flow”.

 

Who is Animal Flow for?

 

Animal Flow is a complete floor workout that improves strength, power, flexibility, mobility and coordination

This workout is suitable for all fitness levels and can be done alone or with a professional. In addition, it is suitable for the general population, as well as for athletes and people involved in other physical activities such as dance, yoga, pilates, martial arts and rock climbing.

Regular practice of Animal Flow helps to improve longevity by working on joint strength, cardiovascular endurance and strength.
